Bubbles, hula hoops, frisbees
These are great ice-breakers!
Be creative by also adding a counting activity – keep track of the
number of seconds someone can keep the hula hoop up, or number of times
the frisbee is caught. Practice saying each other’s names as you toss
the frisbee back and forth.
Jenga
Also good as an ice-breaker…warm up your time together with laughter!
Uno
This fun game is great for practicing colors and numbers.
Play paper money and coins
Learn not only the names and value of American currency, but these items are especially helpful in role-play activites.
Any Kid’s Memory Games
Not only is it fun to test your memory skills, but new vocabulary words can be learned as well.
Try to learn the new vocabulary words in your client’s native language too!

Practice creating words with this game.
Note: recommended for intermediate to advanced levels.
Kid’s Picture Dictionaries
Consider giving a gift that will continue to give throughout your client’s language learning process.
Great for reviewing the alphabet and spelling. Be creative…if you like it, chances are your client might as well. Remeber to take into consideration HOW much language might be needed to engage the item/game that you are bringing.
